# How to add a "Made by" badge to Shopify

On Shopify, the badge goes into your theme's main layout file so it shows on every page of your store.

## Steps

1. Create your badge in the Maker Badge editor and copy your code.
2. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
3. Next to your current theme, open the "…" menu and choose "Edit code".
4. Open layout/theme.liquid and paste the code just before the closing </body> tag.
5. Save and open your store.

## Good to know

- Switching or updating your theme can remove the code: paste it again into the new theme.
